Our thoughts on Music Agencies at our Wedding Fayres
Today we said NO
Behind every wedding fayre is a lot of behind-the-scenes planning. We don't just open the doors and let anyone set up a table, we spend a great deal of time carefully curating the businesses in the room and finding that perfect balance for everyone involved.
We find ourselves, almost daily, having to respond to enquiries that their category is full but we can hopefully fit them in next time, however today we said NO to an enquiry - specifically to a Music/Entertainment Agency.
We wanted to take a moment to share the "why" behind this decision and explain how we curate our fayres to benefit both our couples and our amazing suppliers.
Our "Conscious Curation" Approach
When we organise a fayre, we make a conscious effort to try our best to limit duplication among our exhibitors across all categories. While it isn't a rigid, heavily policed rule, it is a core part of our planning process. We want to ensure that couples have a good variety of options to choose from without feeling overwhelmed by seeing numerous identical businesses in one room.
Equally important, we want our exhibitors to have the best possible chance to secure bookings. By limiting direct competition on the day, we create a supportive atmosphere where businesses can truly shine.
Why We Prioritise Independent Musicians
When it comes to wedding entertainment, our fayres are proudly filled with independent solo artists, acoustic duos, and bands in particular at our LIVE events at the Swansea.com Stadium and Parc y Scarlet Stadiums. These events are there to highlight music and entertainment for your special day.
While music agencies do a fantastic job and represent some wonderful local and national talent, they naturally carry a massive list of acts across multiple genres. If an agency were to exhibit with us, their wide-ranging brochures and promotional materials would unavoidably cross over with the independent exhibitors we have already booked.
We want to protect the balance of our events. Allowing a large agency to showcase a huge list of acts could easily overshadow an independent acoustic singer or a local harpist who has invested their time and money to be there.
What This Means for You
For our couples: You get to speak directly with the passionate, independent artists who will actually be performing on your big day. You get a bespoke, personal experience right from the first "hello."
For our exhibitors: You know that when you book a stand with us, you are stepping into a fair, supportive environment designed to help your small business thrive.
Our wedding fayres are built on community, fairness and championing independent talent. We are so incredibly proud of the talented suppliers who join us each series and we will continue to do everything we can to support them!
